Driver Consent

What we check, why, who sees your documents and how long we keep them. Shown at the document verification step of driver sign-up.

  • We check your documents to confirm you may legally drive a taxi in the Netherlands and that you are who you say you are.
  • Only authorised Fairvo reviewers see them.
  • We never sell them or use them for marketing.
  • You can see, correct or delete them, within the limits below.

Cover your BSN. Your passport or ID card shows your citizen service number (BSN). Cover it before you take the photo. We do not need it. We do not ask for your VOG; your chauffeurskaart already shows you passed screening.

03How verification works

  1. You photograph each document in the app. You can save and finish later.
  2. A Fairvo reviewer checks it is genuine, valid and in your name, and that the details match each other.
  3. Where possible we check details against official public registers.
  4. Nothing is reviewed until all 6 steps are submitted. You see the status of each document in the app, and if one needs fixing we tell you why.

Approval is never decided by software alone. A person always makes the final decision.

We remind you 30, 14 and 7 days before a document expires. If it expires you cannot go online until you upload the new one; your earnings and plan are not affected.

04Legal basis

Checking your documents is necessary to enter into and perform our agreement and to comply with Dutch taxi law (GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (c)). We do not use facial recognition or other biometric checks.

05Who can see your documents

  • Authorised Fairvo reviewers, with every access logged.
  • Authorities such as the ILT or police, only when the law requires it.

Riders never see your documents. They see your first name, vehicle and plate.

06How long we keep them

We keep your documents while you drive with Fairvo and up to 12 months after your account ends, unless the law requires longer or we need them for a dispute.

07Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your documents at privacy@fairvo-app.com. If you ask us to delete required documents while active, we will need to deactivate your account because we can no longer verify you may drive. You can complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

08What you confirm

By signing the Consent step in the app, you confirm that:

  • you have read this page and the Privacy Policy;
  • the documents you upload are genuine, valid and your own;
  • you will tell Fairvo within 48 hours if any document expires or is withdrawn.
